FUMC Missions Team is rooted in Jesus’ greatest commandments: to love God with all that we are and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We live out this calling by sharing the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, making disciples, and working together through acts of compassion and justice.
Our team meets the third Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm in room 207.
We acts to glorify God through our service in His Kingdom by supporting and reaching out to others in our local community, our country and internationally. Through coming alongside others with prayer, encouragement, finances, supplies, and short-term trips, we support the Body of Christ as well as witness the Good News in word and deed to those who do not know Christ.
Primary Goals for 2027
- Promote participation in existing local, regional,national & international missions.
- Identify new mission opportunities as guided by the Holy Spirit.
- Host the Rise Against Hunger initiative in May. We packed over 10,000 meals for vulnerable children in Africa in 2026 and hope to increase that number in 2027.
- Co-host Camp in the Community in July, along side the FUMC Children’s ministry, providing a five day camp opportunity for underprivileged children in our community.
- Host annual Blood Drive.
- Monitor and support various on-going missions within our congregations such as: the Warming/Cooling station for the homeless during inclement weather , Fence Ministry providing gloves, hats & scarves during the winter, H Street Ministry which cares for immigrants in our community and Plarners (PLAstic bags as YARN) who make mats for the homeless.
