Jesus called us to make a difference where we live. Here are some examples of local ministries we presently engage in. For more information on any of these ministries please contact the church office 423-581-2180

Carpentry Ministry – Tommy Sanders coordinates volunteers in our church to build ramps for people to get into their homes as well as other projects that come up.

Helping Hands – This team of volunteers is available to help older members do simple projects like move a piece of furntiture or change a light bulb. Tom Parker is the team leader.

Hope For Orphans – This missions based team focuses upon asisting and ministering to chlidren in times of disctress. This ministry is local in its support for Holston Home for Chlidren in Greenville ,TN. It also partners with Ridgway Ministries in Bulgaria as well as holding an adoption fair to encourage adoptions. This team is lead by Skip and Jane Frierson.

Jail Ministry – This team of committed men and women go Thursday nights to the Hamblen County jail to share Jesus Christ with the inmates. Lisa Jolley is the head of this team.

Love Morristown – This annual spring project seeks to go to where people are and show them the love of Christ. Our Sunday School classes, youth and children engage in reaching out. Projects include washing windows, children giving gift bags away, grilling out at housing project, cleaning toilets, etc.

Quilting Ministry – This group of ladies meets weekly to make quilts, share in devotions and have fun together. This group has made quilts that have gone to Bulgaria as well as to patients locally in the oncology unit. Kathy Wooley leads this group.

Harvest Table for Missions – People are invited to bring fresh produce, eggs, garden plants, etc. and share them with others.  Donations are accepted and go to support FUMC mission projects. A table is in the hall near the elevator on Sunday mornings and on the bench outside the church entrance during the week.
